Required Documents
Step-by-Step Process
Sign Up or Login to DigiLocker
Use your Aadhaar number and mobile OTP to sign up or log in at digilocker.gov.in or the mobile app.
Search for the Issuing Department
Go to 'Search Documents' and select your state's Revenue Department, Registration Department, or land records board as the issuer.
Enter Document Reference Details
Enter the Khasra/survey number or the document/deed registration number as required by that department's linked API.
Fetch and Save the Document
DigiLocker retrieves the verified e-document directly from the department's database and saves it in your 'Issued Documents' folder.
Share or Download as Needed
Generate a shareable link or download the digitally signed document - it is valid as an original under the IT Act for most official uses.
Pro Tips & Warnings
- Not all states or departments are onboarded onto DigiLocker yet - if your land record issuer isn't listed, use the state's Bhulekh portal directly instead.
- Documents fetched via DigiLocker carry the same legal validity as physical originals under the Information Technology Act, 2000.
- Link Aadhaar to the same mobile number registered with the land records department to ensure a successful auto-fetch.
