Step-by-Step Process

Identify Your Discom

Find your state's electricity distribution company (e.g., BSES, Tata Power, MSEDCL, TSSPDCL, PSPCL) and check if it has a dedicated payment app.

Locate Your Bill

Enter your consumer/account number on the discom's website or app, or scan the QR code printed on the paper bill.

Choose a BBPS-Enabled Payment Mode

Use the discom's own app, or Bharat Bill Pay through any UPI app (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm), net banking, or debit/credit card.

Verify and Confirm Amount

Cross-check the outstanding amount, due date and any late fee before submitting the payment.

Save the Receipt

Download or screenshot the payment receipt/transaction ID for your records; the discom usually updates payment status within a few hours.
