Step-by-Step Process

Identify Your Discom and Apply Online

Go to your area's electricity distribution company website and open the 'New Connection' service; fill in owner details, premises address, and desired load in kW.

Upload Documents and Pay Application Fee

Scan and upload your address/ownership proof, ID proof and photograph, then pay the nominal processing/application fee online.

Site Inspection by Discom Officials

A discom engineer visits the premises to verify the load requirement, wiring safety, and distance from the nearest transformer/pole.

Pay Security Deposit and Charges

Pay the refundable security deposit (based on sanctioned load) plus meter/service line charges as intimated by the discom after inspection.

Meter Installation and Connection

A field team installs the meter and energizes the service line, typically within 7-15 days of clearance, and shares your new consumer number.
