Register on the NTA Portal
Create your application number by registering with basic details, mobile, and email on jeemain.nta.nic.in.
Fill Application Form
Enter your educational, personal details, and choose exam cities and medium of the exam paper.
Upload Documents
Upload scanned photograph, signature, and category certificate (if applicable) in the specified format.
Pay the Application Fee
Pay the fee online via net banking, card, or UPI - the amount varies by category and number of exam sessions/papers chosen.
Download Admit Card and Appear
Download your admit card about a week before the exam, noting your allotted exam centre and shift, then appear for the computer-based test.
Pro Tips & Warnings
- JEE Main is held in multiple sessions (usually January and April) - you can appear in both and your best score (NTA percentile) is considered.
- Only the top 2,50,000 rank holders in JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced (for IIT admission) - check the exact cutoff each year.
- Double-check your exam city preferences carefully, as centre allocation is based on availability and your choices, and changes later are difficult.
