Check Income Category Eligibility
PMAY-U 2.0 defines annual household income slabs - EWS up to Rs 3 lakh, LIG Rs 3-6 lakh, and MIG Rs 6-9 lakh - confirm which category you fall under.
Choose the Applicable Vertical
Select Beneficiary-led Construction, Affordable Housing in Partnership, In-situ Slum Redevelopment, or the Interest Subsidy Scheme depending on your situation and land ownership.
Fill the Online Application
On pmay-urban.gov.in, enter Aadhaar, income, and bank details, and select your Urban Local Body (ULB)/city.
ULB Verification
The Urban Local Body verifies your documents and, for self-construction, inspects the site, before approving the application.
Track Sanction and Subsidy Release
Track sanction status online; subsidy or installments are released via DBT as construction progresses, or credited at possession handover for partnership housing.

- No member of the family should own a pucca house anywhere in India - this is checked against records during ULB verification.
- Since all subsidy transfers happen via DBT, keep an Aadhaar-seeded bank account ready before applying to avoid delays.
- Women's ownership or co-ownership of the house is mandatory or strongly preferred under most verticals to be eligible.
