Step-by-Step Process
Register as a New Farmer
Go to pmkisan.gov.in > Farmers Corner > New Farmer Registration and enter Aadhaar number, state, district, and land details, or apply through your local Common Service Centre (CSC) or Patwari/Agriculture Officer.
Complete Mandatory eKYC
Complete eKYC using Aadhaar OTP on the portal, biometric authentication at a CSC, or Face Authentication via the PM-KISAN mobile app - installments are held without it.
Get Land Records Seeded
Get your land records linked (seeded) with your Aadhaar at the local revenue/agriculture office, as most states require this for verification.
Verify Bank Account Details
Ensure your bank account is Aadhaar-seeded and NPCI-mapped so the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) can be credited without failure.
Track Beneficiary Status
Check 'Beneficiary Status' or 'Know Your Status' on the portal using your Aadhaar number or registration number to confirm state approval.
Receive Installments
Once approved, Rs 2,000 is credited directly to your bank account every four months (Apr-Jul, Aug-Nov, Dec-Mar).
Pro Tips & Warnings
- If an installment is missing, check the 'eKYC' and 'Land Seeding' status on the portal first - these are the most common reasons for a held payment.
- Keep your name spelled identically on Aadhaar, bank passbook, and land records to prevent automatic rejection during verification.
- Institutional landholders, income tax payees, and serving/retired government employees above Group D (with exceptions) are not eligible for the scheme.
