National Scholarship Portal
Apply for central and state government scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), a single-window platform covering pre-matric, post-matric, and merit-based schemes.
Required Documents
Step-by-Step Process
Register as a Fresh Applicant
On scholarships.gov.in, register as a 'Fresh' applicant with your basic details, mobile, and email to generate a login.
Select the Applicable Scheme
Choose the scheme category matching your education level (pre-matric, post-matric, top-class, or merit-based) and social category.
Fill Application and Institute Details
Enter your academic details, course, institute, and bank account information for direct benefit transfer.
Upload Documents
Upload marksheet, income certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), and bank passbook copy.
Institute Verification and Disbursal
Your institute verifies the application online, followed by state/district nodal officer approval; the scholarship amount is directly credited to your bank account.
Pro Tips & Warnings
- Renewal applicants must apply every year before the deadline - scholarships aren't automatically continued without re-application on NSP.
- Ensure your bank account is Aadhaar-seeded and DBT-enabled, or the scholarship disbursal will fail even after approval.
- Apply well before the deadline - the portal often gets overloaded in the final days, causing submission failures.
