Pay Water Utility Bill
Pay your municipal water supply bill through your city's own water board or corporation portal (e.g. BWSSB in Bengaluru, Delhi Jal Board, Chennai Metrowater, PMC) - the exact portal name and process differ by city.
Required Documents
Step-by-Step Process
Find Your City's Water Board Portal
Search for your municipal corporation or water board's official website/app (e.g. BWSSB, DJB, Chennai Metrowater) and open its 'online bill payment' section.
Enter Your Connection Number
Type in your Water Connection/RR Number or K-number exactly as printed on the previous bill to fetch your outstanding dues.
Verify Bill Details
Check the billing period, meter reading/consumption and total dues shown on screen before proceeding to payment.
Choose a Payment Mode
Pay via net banking, debit/credit card, or UPI - many cities' water bills are now also payable through the BBPS 'Water' category on GPay, PhonePe or Paytm.
Download the Receipt
Save the payment receipt/transaction ID for your records - keep it handy in case of billing disputes or disconnection notices.
Pro Tips & Warnings
- Many municipal corporations offer a rebate for advance or annual water bill payment - check before paying month by month.
- If your city's water board is BBPS-linked, you can pay via the 'Water' category on GPay/PhonePe/Paytm instead of visiting the corporation's own site.
- Keep your RR/K connection number saved somewhere safe - most portals cannot look up your bill by address alone.
